- Channa dal-1Cup
- Onion-1 &1/2 Numbers
- Green Chilly-1 Number
- Fennel seeds-A little
- Tomatoes-2 Numbers
- Water-As per required
- Ginger garlic paste-1 Tsp
- Oil(Of any type)-As per required
- Salt-As per taste
- Turmeric Powder-1/4 Tsp
- Red chilly powder-1 Tsp
- Coriander Powder-1Tsp
- Garam masala powder-1/2 Tsp
- Grated coconut-3Tsp
- Soak channa dal for at least two hour
- Grind channa dal along with salt, green chilly, half piece of onion and make a coarse paste.
- make small patties and deep fry it. Keep it aside
- In a pan, heat the oil. Add, 1 full onion which is sliced into small pieces, ginger garlic paste and saute well.
- When onion turns into light brown colour, add turmeric, red chilly powder, Coriander powder,garam masala powder and cook till oil oozes out
- Add tomatoes cut into small pieces
- Add a little water and close the lid. Keep the flame into the medium for 10 minutes
- Switch off the flame and wait until heat reduces
- Transfer the mixture into the grinder and grind it coarsely
- Heat the same pan again. Add oil, fennel seeds then the ground mixture into it.
- Add water and make it boil.
- Add the vada (Fried patties ) into the gravy
- Add salt as per taste and close the lid for 5 minutes
- Meanwhile, Grind grated coconut with fennel seeds and water(Make the paste as fine as possible)
- Make the flame sim and add the coconut paste into it
- saute the curry eventually for 1 minute
- Add a little raw coconut oil into curry after turn off the flame.
